About- Nubian Link, Inc. was founded
in 1996. We are a resource center specializing in crisis intervention
for individuals from all walks of life-homeless, prison release,
domestic violence, pregnant and parenting teens, etc. When unexpected
life situations occur, these populations typically have few
options for immediate help. This is where Nubian Link, Inc.
comes in.
How the Program Works - Individuals who
have emergency needs would contact our agency directly or thru
their case manager. Our staff will complete an intake assessment
which asks for general information and immediate needs. Nubian
Link, Inc. maintains a clothing bank, hygiene products and general
household items along with a pantry from which we supply many
of our clients immediate needs. We also partner with local food
pantries to help meet client requests for food. For transient
clients, staff will deliver food and other items, to the client.
Once the participants emergency needs are met, they are introduced
to the various life skills components that will help them to
improve the quality of their lives such as spiritual awareness,
coping skills, budgeting, parenting skills, etc. Life skills
coaching takes place once a week, over a 12 week period. Follow-up
is conducted 30 days after coaching is completed.
